Quire

This is Quire: a keepsake. A luxury office supply gift box built on layered reveals, considered materials, and the belief that the package should outlast what's inside.

Objective: Design a multi-component packaging system. I chose luxury office supplies, a category that doesn't really exist, and one where the box is usually torn open and tossed.

Audience: Gift-givers marking a milestone, stationery collectors, and the self-purchaser starting a new chapter.

Strategy & Concept

Office supplies are functional, disposable, and rarely gifted, and when they are, the packaging is built to be torn through. Quire treats the box as part of the gift. A quire is a set of folded sheets nested together, the foundational unit of a book. The product borrows that logic: lift the lid and an angled writing surface holds the tools in place, ready to use. Lift the surface and a catch-all tray waits underneath. The package becomes the desk. The luxury is in the materials, not the flourishes. Japanese bookbinding paper, vellum, hand-dyed paper, letterpress. A box built to last longer than the supplies inside.
