Begin to Heal

A hand-lettered silk scarf exploring healing, transformation, and emotional renewal through words drawn from Hozier's From Eden.

Overview

This piece comes from a larger narrative project exploring how existing language can be reshaped to tell new emotional stories. Words drawn from Hozier’s song From Eden were selected and reordered to form a progression about release, healing, and renewal rather than their original meaning. Translating the lettering onto a silk scarf shifts the work from something read to something lived with: worn close to the body and carried through daily life, the object becomes tied to warmth, care, and personal ritual rather than display. Even before the text is read, the softness, movement, and intimacy of the form communicate vulnerability and protection, reinforcing the idea that healing is not fixed or performative but ongoing and embodied.
